Here We Are!

We have arrived in the blogging world. So here's a quick recap of what we've been up to since the wedding:

First was, of course, the Honeymoon. We went to Disneyland and had a blast! We drove there, but it wasn't too bad because we spaced it over two days. It was really nice to have that time just to ourselves after all the chaos of the wedding. We spent about three and a half days in the parks so we had time to see and do pretty much everything.

Then it was time to head back to New Mexico for moving.

We spent a couple of days in Albuquerque cleaning out my old apartment and getting everything loaded up. We used my parents' horse trailer, their Suburban, and my little Honda. Much to the surprise of everyone, we were able to fit all of my furniture (bed, kitchen table, chairs, dresser, shelves, etc.) and all of my boxes plus wedding gifts! My dad wasn't able to make the trip with us so Mom and my sister, Elyse, hauled the trailer. Then our brother-in-law Jake came with his brother Andy to help us unload. Moving is such a huge task and we were so lucky to have so many helping hands! There's no way we could have done it without all the help, thanks guys!
Our Little Love Nest

Since then we've pretty much just been settling into life in Colorado. I'm still working on getting everything unpacked and the house set up the way I want it. Since it's a rental and we'll only be here for a year I have a hard time deciding if I really want to put in the money, time and effort I would if we owned it. Painting, for example, seems a little overwhelming. Especially considering we'd just have to repaint when it's time to leave. On the other hand, I do want to make our home a nice place to be.

We have a very nice ward here and we're trying to really get involved. We've been invited to different Family Home Evenings the past two weeks and there was another couple/family invited to each as well. They've been a lot of fun and it's so good to meet new people. Our Bishop came over last night to visit with us and we really like him, he's a very friendly man. In talking to him we discovered that he was the Home Teacher for a family my parents have been good friends with since before I was even born! Such a small world!

So there's a pretty thorough general update. Usually they won't be this long, but I thought I'd do a little overview for everyone.
